Turned 3o on January 31st and we had a yurt trip planned for the last few weeks. Turns out we were the second party to go in and the yurt had that new smell with all the ameneties except for sleeping bags, beer and food. The high wind had blown the new snow around into various places we had to discover.
The higher terrain was wind packed with a faccetted layer about a foot down. It was a bit scetchy but we were there and we couldn't help ski some of the better looking lines. Plus Jesse had an avalung so we sent him first! the snow held up and we made some pretty sweet turns. More than that the experience of being the Tobacco Roots hanging with friends made turning 30 feel pretty young.

Thanks to Eliza for doing all the ground work and getting the team pumped up! Was cool to meet and ski with Jesse and Carey, they were good backcountry allies and a hella good time to hang with. I was glad Holly was there most of all, she's such a strong skier and makes anything we do seem epic. I'll remember this one. This is actully my first blog entry. many more to follow I hope!

happy 30th rocksteady! i'd give the trip a 10 on the badass scale.
Nice work. Great shots. I came across your blog while “blog surfing” using the Next Blog button on the blue Nav Bar located at the top of my blogger.com site. I frequently just travel around looking for other blogs which exist on the Internet, and the various, creative ways in which people express themselves. Thanks for sharing.
